Because of the size and nature of Chase’s mass, a nurse or doctor has to take his vitals and check his eye movements every hour. Having said that, you can well imagine our night.
Around 9:00pm, we got to meet with the surgical resident who showed us this:
Externally, we nodded and looked serious. Internally, I think we both let out a panicked mental scream. I wanted to jump up and say “Take him into surgery 5 minutes ago!”
The amazing and astounding thing is that THAT is on the inside of THIS:
…who up until 3-4 weeks ago had no noticeable symptoms. (that we’re aware of) (could excessive wearing out of parents be considered a symptom?)
We are currently awaiting several teams stopping by on rounds, after which, we will most likely be briefed on a surgical plan.
Praying for peace …
Bob & Ellie:
Lifting you and Chasey Bear before the throne of our Lord. He knows. He cares. He loves you.
Love to you all,
Cathy
Oh, friend. Praying for peace, mercy, and strength for you all.
If you want to talk through any of the medical stuff, please feel free to call.
Ellie,
Sent out prayer SOS to my church. Reminded of what Joseph said to his brothers when seeing them after they had sold him into slavery: “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive.” (Gen 50:20). Joseph’s God is your God, and no runaway cell growth can interfere with His plan for GOOD in Chase’s life, and in your life.
Praying for mercy, peace, and love to be multiplied to you as you walk through this season. (Jude 1)
Weeping and praying with you.
Love, Barb
I just want you to know that I’m praying for your family. God bless. I hope your son gets well soon!
Oh, Ellie! I’m so sorry! I hope everything turns out okay!
You are on my heart and in my prayers! May God’s peace surround you, and may you find rest in His loving, good, and capable hands!
I rose at 2:00am for a time of prayer and saw your post. I believe in the power of prayer, not because I have read about it, but because I have seen what it can do. I believe in God’s ability to heal with or without doctors. It was prophesied that I would lay hands on children and they would be healed. By faith I respond to that prophesy. It does not matter that I cannot physically touch Chase. What I do not claim to know is how God will respond. And so from Arkansas I pray as Jesus taught his disciples to pray when they didn’t know how to pray. I exult in the name of Yahweh, the living God (Our father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name) by faith I pray the work and power of the Kingdom of God would come to bear on this tumor in Chase’s head (Thy kingdom come) and I pray that your will would be accomplished in his life, (your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven). Give his family the peace, grace, and faith in you they need right now, and the doctors and nurses the understanding and skill they need right now beyond the limits of training and human skills (give us THIS DAY our daily bread). Forgive our sins to the measure that we forgive other’s sins against us that guilt would not in any way hinder the work of God for us or empower the enemy against us (forgive our trespasses as we forgive the trespasses of others against us). As we walk this journey with you please do not take us beyond the breaking point where we turn away from you (Lead us not into temptation) but destroy the works of the Satan against Chase and his family and set them free of this burden (but deliver us from evil).
Preach the kingdom. May the kingdom of God be made manifest in little Chase.
So well said, Steve. Thank you!

Dear ones,
Our cousin, Raynie forwarded your messages to us yesterday and this morning. Our hearts are very heavy and we are praying this morning for your sweet little Chase and for the surgeons who, “as long as it takes”, will be performing this amazing task. God is able and He will provide what you all need right now. “Great are your mercies, O LORD.”
(Ps. 119:156a). We will continue in prayer. Raynie will keep us updated .
We heard of your trial through our niece Andrea Berry’s husband, and are joining in prayer. What a blessings that you have so much support around you. “When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.” Psalm 94:19; “May the God of all hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13
